The ‘Bonfire Express’ service returns this year to take visitors to the annual Bedale community fireworks and bonfire event.
Each year the railway operates this special service from Leyburn to Bedale to allow people from the west end of the dale easier access to the event.
The special service will operate on Saturday 1 November between Leyburn and Leeming Bar. Trains will depart Leeming Bar at 4pm and Leyburn at 5pm. Adult tickets are £10 return. Children aged 3 to 15 travel for only £1 when accompanied by a paying adult.
Nick Keegan, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Wensleydale Railway said: “Our special ‘Bonfire Express’ service is ideal for people looking to visit the Bedale fireworks event and avoid the hassle of travelling on busy roads and the stress of finding a car parking space. Why not let the train take the strain this year!”
