      Medieval Music in the Dales at Bolton Castle, Leyburn is the UK's only festival of medieval music and it’s online anytime this year, due to the pandemic. The festival features performances from dozens of musicians - some live online, others pre-recorded exclusively to premier at Medieval Music in the Dales. On top of that, you can enjoy a virtual tour of the amazing venue - Bolton Castle - and join in on vocal and instrumental workshops.

    • Wensleydale audio book

      On SoundCloud there’s the audio of the classic 1936 book 'Wensleydale', by Ella Pontefract and Marie Hartley, as read by AM Fagg. Ella and Marie, worked in partnership as author and artist in the 1930s and 1940s and their collaboration resulted in 6 books. Ella died in 1945 and Marie went on to write and illustrate many more books on the Yorkshire Dales with Joan Ingilby who founded The Upper Dales Folk Museum in Hawes, which opened in 1979; it is now called the Dales Countryside Museum.

    • Father Christmas at White Scar Caves

      On December weekends before Christmas, White Scar Caves in Ingleton will have a festive theme, with special illuminations and effects and Father Christmas will be in his cave, with lots of presents too. Admission times (weather permitting) from 11am, with last entry at 3pm.
