An extremely special official (with unofficial bits) #SUAFC podcast brought to you from the kitchen, work staff room and bedroom. This week we welcome none other than Tony Runciman (joint manager and sometimes keen player-manager) of Settle United AFC 3rd team, as well as the very popular and all round good-guy Paul Dawson, manager of local rivals Hellifield Sports FC.
The A65 local derby is this weekend down at Bridge End with a 2pm kick-off - weather depending and it's with great pride we share an insight into both sides this week. A massive thank you to Paul and match sponsor this week Drake & Macefield who are also sponsors of Hellifield Sports FC.
It's an eagerly anticipated game, with both sides coming off the back of defeats last time out, so they'll be looking to make amends and get a result each. Enjoy the listen.
Listen every Friday at 9am and also join us on Dales Radio at 11:15am (ish) where we talk all things Settle United AFC, football, Craven league and in the community too.
Settle United Association Football Club was founded in 1884 and our team played their first football games at the ground we play at today, Bridge End. The ground is seen by many as one of the most awe-inspiring and beautiful there are in the United Kingdom; the River Ribble curves it’s way around the pitch and we have a picturesque backdrop to the pitch with the Settle to Carlisle railway line overlooking us, as well as the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales (Settle Loop walk) too.
