Are you passionate about heritage, history, and community? The Folly, a stunning 17th-century house in the heart of Settle are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help keep this local treasure thriving.
As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to choose what day best suits you to volunteer, get great access to discounts in their coffee house and shop and have the chance to attend social events with other volunteers.
They are looking for some new people to volunteer in the Visitor Welcome role and that could be you!
The role involves greeting visitors, telling people about The Folly, using the till to count visitors and sell shop products plus opening or closing up the museum depending on the time of day.
No prior experience is necessary as full training will be given and a volunteer mentor provided and there is no need to stick to a particular day or time as shifts are either morning (11am-1pm) or Afternoon (1pm-4pm) to suit.
Great volunteer benefits include: Free tea & coffee or soft drink whilst on duty, 10% discount in the shop and cafe, expenses to travel to The Folly, opportunities to visit other museums and historic houses plus opportunities for museum training with other organisations.
All you need is just a friendly attitude and a willingness to get involved! Whether you can spare a few hours a week or help out occasionally, your time and enthusiasm will make a real difference.
