Wensleydale Charity Match 27th May 3PM at Wensleydale RUFC

Wensleydale Rugby Club and Bishop Burton College will be celebrating the lives of our friends and team mates, Aaron Bell 18 from Jervaulx, Louis Banks 17 and Tommy Shevels18 from Healey who back in July 2022 were taken from us in a devastating road traffic accident. As part of their memorial a statue was erected in Masham’s Market Square and, on May 27th there will be a Rugby Match held in their honour. The game will be played between Wensleydale RUFC and Bishop Burton College, both Louis and Aaron played for Wensleydale since they were youngsters and Aaron went on to Bishop Burton College where he represented the Academy team. The game will be held at Wensleydale Rugby Club, Leyburn DL8 5ED on May 27th at 3:00pm and we would dearly love to see as many people as possible at the club to honour our teammates and friends. The Wensleydale Club bar will be open serving local refreshments, a barbeque will be available as well as raffle prizes. The game will be used to raise vital funds for four charities, Young Minds, Brake, Join B and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We encourage as many people as possible to attend for what will be a great game of rugby and a fitting tribute to three wonderful young men.
