Yomp Mountain Challenge

The Yomp mountain challenge is a 2 day festival of all things running/walking and the out doors. Taking place on the 15th and 16th June all events start and finish at base camp, The Engine Shed, Kirkby Stephen. Five events take place on Saturday starting with the La Sportive Ultra yomp a 64k trip around the beautiful scenery of the Dale’s.
The Thrudark mountain marathon yomp is next, it’s the traditional yomp extended slightly to the full marathon distance.
The J T Atkinson 20k yomp offers a challenging route through fantastic scenery.
The Alderson 10k yomp offers something for all the family, from a fast race to a stroll through the countryside.
The Petzl night yomp is a 10k event to be run/walked as you please, much of the route will be visible from base camp, with everyone’s head torches lit up it’s will be quite a spectacle.
Sunday is a family day out with The Out of Eden 5k yomp, all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part.
Throughout the days there will be live music, food, refreshments and entertainment for everyone.
