Miss Victoria's Emporium opens its doors

Laurie, Jane, Gillian and Barbara, some of the lovely ladies who will be running Miss Victoria's Emporium

A shop, born out of coronavirus pandemic opens in Settle today.

During lock down the Victoria Hall turned its main hall into a 'cornucopia of curios', as it was recently described, to raise funds for the hall at a time when normal productions were suspended.

It proved so popular that since restrictions were lifted and the hall could start to look forward to return to its more usual function, that Miss Victoria's Emporium should be able to continue, so the idea of the new shop was born.  The existing Emporium in the hall is still running and the new permanent shop offers more opportunity to raise funds.

Good luck to everyone involved. We're told that if there's a queue on opening day, you can always pop down to the 'other' Emporium in the Victoria Hall!

The new shop opens today (Tuesday), next door to the Naked Man Cafe in the heart of Settle.
