New business support in the Dales

Richmondshire District Council is helping businesses start 2022 with a free range of support. Two programmes are being launched this month to help them recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic – as well as plan for the future, adapt to change and thrive.

The first programme is the second part of the successful business masterclass series, launched in Autumn 2021. Support offered includes: short courses on key business topics; live workshops to network with other local businesses and ask questions of industry experts; one-on-one consultancy with hour calls with a business expert; and checklists, templates, links, and other resources. Topics covered through this programme include branding, marketing, sales, new markets, and finance.

The second programme is a brand new initiative aimed at enhancing a business’ digital capabilities and skills. Support will be offered on a range of topics including websites, social media, CRM systems and safety. Each business will complete a digital diagnostic covering skills, gaps and needs to act as a starting point. Businesses will gain improved knowledge of all areas of digital topics, development of digital skills, and a business action plan for future development from their attendance.

“There are a range of specific challenges facing any business working within the digital space, for those using it for the first time and for those with some experience. We know that it is more important than ever to ensure that businesses have access to the information, skills and support to take full advantage of the opportunities the digital space offers,” said Sue White, Business and Community Manager.

“We are thrilled to be offering such a range of support for our businesses to start 2022. This support has been developed with our businesses in mind, we have listened to them and understand their need for support to enable them to grow and thrive,” added Council Leader, Cllr Angie Dale.
