"Run from the Shadows" is the first exhibition by Julie Edwardson since her move to the Dales last Spring to open Yore Mill Gallery with her partner Steve, which fulfils a lifelong ambition.
Since moving to the Dales Julie has been intrigued by the play of light through the trees particularly falling onto man made forms. She responds to the sights and sounds of the environment and expresses the mood of the local area in gesture and colour.
Julie hopes to evoke the sounds of the dales through these abstracted images such as the play of water over stones and the breeze through the trees. She is attracted to the points where nature and humans collide, textures and contrasts.
