Reeth's Emma Trussler is currently getting cold and wet every day to highlight the plight of some of her friends who suffer from Arthritis.
Millions of people wake up with arthritis every morning and face the day in pain, without the support and recognition they deserve. Arthritis attacks what it means to live and people with arthritis are often left to manage alone. Versus Arthritis invests in breakthrough treatments, the best information and vital support for everyone affected by arthritis.
Cold though it may be it hasn't deterred this Swaledale lass: "I am trying to raise money for Versus arthritis as I have friends and loved ones with this Condition and see first hand how the colder weather affects them. I am putting my body through stress and discomfort daily to try to help those less fortunate."
Emma describes one of her daily dips: "A wonderful woodland and river walk with great company. The water was 4.2 degrees today. We were enjoying ourselves a lot and stayed in for 19 minutes. Probably too long but we soon warmed up with hot Ribena and a brisk walk back. No motivation to get in today it was getting us out..."
And she needs your support: "Please sponsor me so that together we can overcome the pain, isolation and fatigue of arthritis."
