A nutcracker of a Christmas promised in Dales market town

The Nutcracker Trail will run in Skipton from November 22nd until January 4th.

Giant Nutcracker models are set to take over a series of businesses to bring a magical festive feel into Skipton this Christmas.

Fully funded by Skipton BID, the Nutcracker Trail will aim to drive people into the town centre to support the local business community at such an important time of the year.

In total, 10 Nutcrackers will be placed at different business locations between November 22nd and January 4th to encourage both local people and visitors to travel around the town centre to help to boost footfall and spend over the festive period.

Any families taking part in the trail can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit as they travel to each of the different locations to discover the secret Nutcracker names to complete the trail and enter the chance of winning some top prize packages.

A number of Skipton businesses have kindly donated a series of prizes to feature in the packages – including a sparkling afternoon tea for four people at the Herriot’s Hotel, a brilliant boat trip with Pennine Cruisers and more…

Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said: “Our trails around Skipton always prove to be popular – so what better period to deliver one than at the ‘most wonderful time of the year’!

“We’ve organised and funded the Nutcracker Trail to help drive people into Skipton and support our businesses at what is notoriously a key time for them.

“A huge thank you to all of the businesses involved in the trail – and to everyone that has generously donated some fantastic prizes.

“You may start to spot the Nutcrackers around town this week…”

Once the Nutcracker Trail has launched this coming weekend, the trail maps can be collected and in Craven Court and Skipton Town Hall. The festive post box for completed trail sheets will be located in Craven Court.

The Business Improvement District (BID) delivers a series of trails, events and other campaigns throughout the year to ensure Skipton remains a vibrant destination to support businesses to thrive.
