Cave rescue from Clapham was called out to a four-legged rescue
A walker called for help when her Doberman dog, having walked over Whernside and Ingleborough, and normally good for hill-walking, went lame in one leg, then could go no further on the West side of Pen y ghent.
The owner struggled to carry him and had to abandon the attempt, despite the assistance of other walkers. Two team members from the CRO drove to the casualty site and, after experiencing some difficulty in persuading him to get in, owner and dog were taken on board and driven back to their car, parked near Ribblehead.
Everyone hopes he is recovered and back out on the hills soon.
