Cheers! Settle Beer Festival raises thousands for Yorkshire Families

Ann Harding of Settle Victoria Hall with (L-R) Kerry Magson and Rose Lodge of The Principle Trust

The 2025 Settle Beer Festival raised over £5000 for a charity which supports poorly and disadvantaged children from the Yorkshire region.

Encouraged by glorious weather, visitors flocked to the 3-day event at Settle Victoria Hall to sample cask ales from local producers and enjoy live music in the adjoining Refreshment Gardens.

The event, which was held from 7-9 August, was organised by supporters of Skipton based charity The Principle Trust, which provides respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.

Several local businesses supported the event, including Walker Foster Solicitors who sponsored both the festival program and a barrel of beer. The event raised £10,371 which will be split equally between Settle Victoria Hall and The Principle Trust.

Commenting after the event, CEO of Settle Victoria Hall Ann Harding said, "Over the last six years Settle Beer Festival has become an established fixture on the town’s calendar. This year we were delighted to join forces with The Principle Trust, who provide a chance for families to escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories. Our thanks go everyone who helped to make this year’s event another great success."

Launched in 2011, The Principle Trust was set up by Yorkshire businessman Mike Davies, MBE. Inspired by his own traumatic childhood, Mike established the charity in order to provide free respite breaks to children experiencing long term, life threatening or limiting illnesses disabilities, mental health issues or social deprivation. Since then, the Trust has provided respite breaks for 5700 children across the Yorkshire region. For more information about The Principle Trust visit www.theprincipletrust.co.uk.
