A Settle housebuilder is the latest local firm to pledge support to Yorkshire families by backing a local children’s charity.
Settle-based FMS Developments has become a patron of The Principle Trust which provides free respite holidays to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.
Established by Managing Director Will Simpson, FMS has been building homes in the Dales since 2019. During that time the niche family concern has completed around a dozen, unique developments in Bentham, Settle, Clapham and Hellifield; their latest project, Old Mason’s Yard in Clapham, comprises a barn conversion and a single new, detached bungalow.
Focusing on one development at a time, FMS employs a core team of 3 staff, supported by a small handpicked team of local subcontractors
Making the announcement, Managing Director of FMS Developments Will Simpson said, ‘We’re proud to support the work of The Principle Trust, helping disadvantaged, disabled and poorly children to escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories.’
Kerry Magson of The Principle Trust commented, ‘We are pleased to welcome FMS Developments as a patron; they are a family firm with an established reputation for one-off, quality construction projects and values which align closely with our own. Thanks to companies like FMS, The Trust is able to provide much-needed respite breaks for hundreds of families every year.’
To raise further funds for the Trust, last weekend Will completed one of the UK’s toughest endurance challenges by taking part in Skipton’s Tough Mudder event at Broughton Hall.
Since its launch in 2011, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has provided respite breaks for 5700 children across the Yorkshire region. The Trust is generously supported by corporate patrons, volunteers and fundraisers throughout the Aire and Wharfe Valleys.
