Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) and The Garden Rooms at Tennants announce the return of their popular photography competition
The competition invites photographers of all levels to explore the Yorkshire Dales and share images that showcase its breath-taking scenery, wildlife, and character. By taking part, entrants will help YDMT highlight why this special place deserves protection – and support the charity’s work to care for the Dales for future generations.
Lindsay Wallace, Development Director at YDMT, said: “Every photo tells a story about the beauty and importance of the Yorkshire Dales. This competition isn’t just about stunning images – it’s about inspiring people to connect with nature and helping us raise awareness of why these landscapes need looking after.”
- 35 finalists will have their work featured in a summer exhibition at The Garden Rooms at Tennants
- 12 shortlisted images will appear in the Yorkshire Dales 2027 charity calendar, on sale from August at www.ydmt.org/shop
- The overall winning entry, as voted for by the public, will receive a prize of a £100 photographic voucher and a Yorkshire Hamper
Alison Tennant, Director at The Garden Rooms, added: “The Yorkshire Dales has inspired artists for generations, and we are looking forward to this year’s entrants showing us their own unique view of the life and landscape of the Dales – from iconic views and to the people who play such an important role in protecting and caring for the land. We are delighted to support YDMT and showcase the talent of our region’s photographers.”
The competition is open now and runs until 26 April 2026. For full details and entry guidelines, visit www.tennantsgardenrooms.com/whats-on/events/ydmt-amateur-photography-competition
