Iconic Yorkshire Dales challenges raises £7,500 for Sue Ryder

A double whammy of Yorkshire Dales challenges has raised more than £7,500 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

The adventurous and outdoorsy took on the 10 mile Sue Ryder Settle Loop Challenge and the 3 Dales Marathon last weekend (28 October), raising vital funds for the Oxenhope-based hospice.

The events, sponsored by 3 Peaks Cycles and Castleberg Outdoors, both started and finished at North Ribblesdale RUFC. All participants were rewarded with a buff plus hot food at the end.

Emma Carr, member of the Settle fundraising group, said: “We would like to thank everyone for taking part in the Settle Loop Challenge and 3 Dales Marathon. It was great to see so many walkers, runners and riders enjoying the day all while raising vital funds for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice."

Adam Brunskill, Sue Ryder Community Fundraiser said: "Events like these just wouldn't be able to happen without all the hard work and dedication from our team of amazing volunteers, on behalf of everyone at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice - thank you!

“The money raised means we can continue to provide care to people when they need it the most.”
