The popular Saturday bus service between Skipton and Harrogate will be running again from this weekend, following the reopening of the A59 at Kex Gill.
DalesBus 59 to Harrogate has been temporarily suspended due to the emergency closure of the A59 road at Kex Gill following a landslip on New Year’s Day. Work to remove more than 2,000 tonnes of debris, install new drainage channels and apply about 100 tonnes of clean stone to stabilise the area has now been completed, and the road reopened on Thursday 23rd January.
Double-decker DalesBus 59 runs to Bolton Bridge, Blubberhouses and Harrogate every Saturday, leaving Skipton Bus Station at 1045, 1250, 1545 and 1745; and returning from Harrogate Bus Station at 0935, 1150, 1445 and 1645. The full timetable is available online at www.dalesbus.org/59 and in leaflets from local outlets, including Skipton Library.
In common with local bus services the maximum single fare on these routes is £3, with under 16s travelling for just £1, with senior citizen and disabled bus passes also valid.
