Walkers and hikers need to plan a detour this week.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has confirmed that a key pedestrian bridge over the River Wharfe, a vital link for the popular Dales Way route, will be closed starting today. The closure is for essential safety repairs and is expected to last five days. Rangers are advising anyone planning a riverside walk between Grassington and Burnsall to check the diverted routes posted at the trailhead before setting off.
