The incident happened on Friday evening and police are now seeking witnesses
Officers were called last night (Friday 28 November 2025) at 10.10pm to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Railway Street, by the A684 Harmby Road junction with Yoredale Way in Leyburn
The car was a red Range Rover and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
A woman in her 70s has been arrested in connection with the collision.
North Yorkshire police are particularly appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage of the incident to please get in touch.
