"Captain Sir Tom - We Salute You", says the team at The Conniston Hotel when they greated our national hereo
The Dales Hotel welcome Captain Sir Tom Moore a true national hero, who visited The Coniston over the Yorkshire Day weekend.
The Yorkshire born and bred inspiration was visiting his home county to host some community sessions and launch The Captain Tom Foundation, following his historic landmark fundraiser of almost £39 million for NHS charities during the coronavirus crisis.
Throughout his visit, Captain Sir Tom gave guests an insight into his family history and what has inspired his fundraising campaign as well as officially opening The View Restaurant. The sessions were much enjoyed and were a huge source of inspiration to all who attended.
What Captain Sir Tom has accomplished over the past few months is simply incredible, not only did he raise millions of pounds for the NHS, he raised the hopes of the nation during the dark and difficult days of the coronavirus pandemic, and we are delighted to have welcomed him and to support ‘The Captain Tom Foundation. Thank you Captain Sir Tom!, say the team.
