A monster crane is in place to help stabilise the road, as repair work continues.
News from North Yorkshire Council on the state of the repair works has been released today.
Following the preparatory work, the 100-tonne crane required to carry out the repair scheme on the #A59 at #KexGill has now been installed on-site and is being used to drive long sheets of steel into the ground.

Once this has been completed, they will fill in the excavated area between the steel sheets and the road to provide strength and stability.
There will be extended working hours, as well as weekends to ensure the road is reopened as soon as possible. They anticipate this to be before the end of June, subject to any unforeseen delays.
North Yorkshire Council say they would like to thank you once again for your patience and reiterate that they are doing all they can to complete the repair as quickly and safely as possible.
